Renato N. Estacio serves as the director of marketing for the Las Vegas Philharmonic. A graduate of Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree (2001) in English literature and from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Music degree (2004), Magna Cum Laude, in Voice Performance, he has served as a consultant, editor, writer, and assistant director of the UNLV Writing Center, where he oversaw operations, marketing, training and human resources.

During his time at UNLV, Estacio helped the Writing Center increase its usage from 2,300 consultations per year to well over 4,500. Furthermore, he designed the current layout of the Writing Center, supervised the 2005 move from the Flora Dungan Humanities Building to the Central Desert Complex, and redesigned the website, brochures, bookmarks, handbooks and summary forms.

Estacio brings a unique background to the Philharmonic because of his passion for both music and business. "I love both," he says, "so this engagement certainly combines the best of both worlds." In the past, Estacio was involved in public relations, writing press releases, and performing in school outreach programs.

An accomplished young man, he has received more than 80 awards, honors, and scholarships over the past 15 years. Estacio's noteworthy achievements include leading a team of 4 students from Beta Alpha Psi to win 2nd place in a national accounting case study competition in 2001, receiving the Distinguished Scholar Award from the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and becoming a member of both Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi.

"I am excited to offer myself to the Philharmonic," says Estacio, "especially as the Philharmonic is a wonderful cultural organization, striving for excellence in serving our community while seeking another fine conductor to succeed the retiring Hal Weller." During his time at UNLV, he was a four-time Regents' Award Recipient, as well as an Arts and Science Scholar. He also received the Donald W. Reynolds Department of Accounting Scholarship, won 2nd place with his team in the ALPFA Accounting National Case Study Competition, and was a Stan Fultons Honors Recipient.

Through his association with the UNLV Department of Accounting, he received an honorarium from John Wiley & Sons, Inc., for his contributions to Accounting: Tools for Decision-Making 3rd edition. In December 2007, he will complete a Master's of Business Administration in Marketing with Honors.

Renato was born in California but raised on Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan where he attended Nile C. Kinnick HS. In his spare time, he studies music, performs in musicals, operas, and stage plays. A few of his stage credits include the Tin Woodsman and Guardian of the Gates (Wizard of Oz), Strephon (Iolanthe), Luiz (Gondoliers), Marco (Gianni Schicchi), Masetto (Don Giovanni) and Thomas Putnam (The Crucible).
